History of New Product R & D Center

Shanghai Foci Pharmaceutical Factory found the domestic pharmaceutical research institute in 1929;
        To make use of rich medicinal material resources in Gansu Province, Foci Pharmacy moved into Lanzhou and renamed as Lanzhou Foci Pharmaceutical Factory in 1956;
        Lanzhou Foci Pharmaceutical Factory found the new product laboratory in 1983;
        Lanzhou Foci Pharmaceutical Factory found the traditional Chinese medicine research institute in 1987;
        In 1992 the Foci Pharmaceutical Factory traditional Chinese medicine research institute entered into Lanzhou high-tech Industrial Development Zone, whose external name is: Lanzhou traditional Chinese medicine research institute;
        Lanzhou Foci Pharmaceutical Factory initiated the establishment of Lanzhou Foci Pharmaceutical Co.,Ltd in 2000;
       In 2001，Lanzhou traditional Chinese medicine research institute of Foci Pharmaceutical Co.,Ltd has been identified as provincial-level technology center;
        In 2009, Lanzhou traditional Chinese medicine research institute changed the name as the new product R&D center.

The brief introduction of the new product R&D center

The new product R&D center has advanced scientific research instruments and equipments, we also have laboratory and experimental workshop whose area is 1200m2. The technology and conditions for analyzing the components of the preparation and raw material are advanced.

New product R&D center is mainly engaged in developing new products, re-developing old products, enhancing the standards of drugs, protecting the intellectual property right and a series of relative works. More than 10 new drugs which have independent intellectual property rights such as “Long Ma Lu Wei Yao”, “Hua Bai capsules”, “Fu Fang Guan Zhong Aspirin tablets”, “Shu Gan Xiao Ji pills”, “Zhu Ye Jiao tablets ”, “Ding Xuan pills ” , have been researched successfully and produced with a large scale.

Based on the principle “having complementary advantages, emphasizing practical results, offering mutual benefit and achieving common progress, developing in cooperation”, we have carried out various researches on innovative projects, meanwhile, we pay high attention to the key technologies in pharmaceutical field and the research projects which has the market prospect. The center have carried on the widespread cooperation for developing projects with scientific research institutes, universities and colleges , hospitals and old doctors. We have completed the “Shi Wu” attack issue of National Technical Department: the innovation of drugs and the modernization of traditional Chinese medicine- quantity standard researches on 20 extracts of traditional Chinese medicine, the issue has passed the project approval of National Technical Department; the center also has completed the study on the large-scale cultivation of Chinese angelica, Codonopsis and Radix Astragalus, which promoted the large-scale, standardized and scientific cultivation of the three herbs in Gansu Province.

Driving the development of enterprise with scientific and technological progress. On the base of introducing high and new technological scientific research personnel and strengthening the capacity of independent innovation in R & D, the center will enlarge broad cooperation with the colleges and universities, make use of modern new technology to develop the high-tech and value-added new therapeutic drugs such as traditional Chinese medicine, biochemical medicine. Finally, the core competitiveness of enterprise will be enhanced, an industrial pattern with tight junction of production, reservation and R & D will be formed.
